At least 10 people were killed and 30 others were wounded when security forces clashed with ethnic Somali clan militiamen in the Jeed area of Shillaabo in Ogaden province on 17 August. The clash began when security forces attacked the village following the death of three soldiers on 16 August. The report contained no breakdown of the casualties, although unconfirmed reports claimed that security force personnel were among those killed.
