Seven suspected Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) and four suspected Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) militants were killed by security forces during a number of counter-terrorism operations in the Taraza area of Antioquia department on 18 August. The seven suspected ELN militants were killed in an air strike, while the four suspected members of FARC’s 18th Front were killed in a subsequent ground operation.
