Eight soldiers were killed and four others were wounded when unidentified militants detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) inside a booby-trapped house in the Sadiya area of Diyala province on 11 August. The bodies of three other people were also found inside the house but it was unclear whether they were civilians or militants.
