45 people were killed in an attack on Shia Muslims in Karbala

At least 45 people were killed and more than 170 were wounded in two co-ordinated suicide vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (SVBIED) attacks in and around the city of Karbala in Karbala province on 20 January. The attacks targeted Shia Muslims marking Arbaeen.
