blueSix police officers were killed during clashes between supporters of presidential candidate Alassane Ouattara and security forces loyal to incumbent president Laurent Gbagbo in the capital Abidjan on 12 January. A spokesman for Ouattara alleged that security forces killed at least seven civilians during the clashes but the claim could not be independently verified.
