At least 24 suspected pro-Taliban militants were killed in retaliatory fire when around 150 of them attacked five military checkpoints in the Baidnami area of Mohmand Agency in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) on 23 December. At least three soldiers were killed and 12 others were wounded in the prolonged clash.
