Seven civilians were killed and three others were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED), emplaced by suspected Communist Party of India – Maoist (CPI-M) militants, was detonated in the Pachokhar area of Aurangabad district in the state of Bihar on 21 November. The IED had been discovered by police on 20 November but was left in the absence of a bomb disposal squad.
