Twelve unnamed suspected militants – 11 men and one woman – were arrested during a series of counter-terrorism operations in Marseille and Bordeaux early on 5 October. Police officials said one operation focused on a network of people allegedly supplying false papers for jihadists returning from Afghanistan. Another reportedly targeted nine people suspected of involvement in arms and explosives trafficking.
