At least 27 tankers, transporting fuel for coalition forces in Afghanistan, were attacked and set alight by unidentified militants in the Shikarpur area of Shikarpur district in Sindh province early on 1 October. Two civilians were wounded in the attack. The attackers opened fire into the air to scare away the drivers of the vehicles before torching them.
