Indian security forces killed five demonstrators during protests in Kashmir

At least five protestors were killed when security forces opened fire on separatist demonstrators in the Sopore and Mendhar areas of the state of Jammu and Kashmir on 15 September. Four people were shot dead in the town of Mendhar while several government buildings were also attacked and burnt down by protestors. In Sopore, one person was shot dead by police.
