At least 17 civilians were killed when pro-Transitional Federal Government (TFG) fighters exchanged mortar fire with suspected Shabab militants in the Taleh district of the capital Mogadishu on 28 July. One stray mortar also landed in the city’s Bakara market area killing several women and children.
